What’s your testimony?
What is your purpose in life?
Can you envision yourself there?
How bad do you want that dream?
Are you willing to makesacrifices?
What are your short/long term goals?
What are you doing on a daily basis to get there?
Many people say I’m brave because of the leaps that I take in life. Leaps such as applying to the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago, standing up to people in high places of power, and for moving to Florida without having any friends or family here. Yet, people don’t see the fear and doubt that boils up within me behind closed doors. Although I have been blessed with many talents and abilities, my biggest weakness is FEAR. So much fear that it causes me to become paralyzed and have spiritual panic attacks. An attack that knocks the wind out of my body and breaks me down to my core in tears. Attacks in which I simply can’t see the light or a way out. Continue reading “Moving Through Fear”
In the past two weeks, I found myself revamping major areas of my life. I noticed myself doing the same unproductive thing on my down time after work. Going home and shutting my mind off by watching Netflix. I was watching A Different World and I just finished the Scandal series (5 years later) ha! So, I transitioned to Being Mary Jane. I’m a couple episodes in and I find myself resonating with her a lot. I started putting sticky notes of positive affirmations all over my house and keeping myself accountable to reflecting on a daily/nightly basis in my journal. Overall, I realized how discontent I was with my free time.
Yesterday I wrote about Religious Bystanders in Politics and racked my brain thinking of the different fields that need immediate change. Last week, a close friend asked me if I had the power to make anything I say come true without consequence, what would I do?
Hello Everyone! I apologize for my absence over the past couple days but I come baring good news! Continue reading “Newness on the Way!”
I’ve been working on my spirituality and my relationship with God over the past few months. Learning about Him and how to trust Him with my life. In the process, I have decided to make more changes with Everything’s Magnificent. I am going to dedicate one day a week to working out my meditations on God/Religion/Life.
A blend of excitement and nervousness sits in your stomach. Your mouth is dry and the lights are hot. It’s a packed room of hundreds looking on to your every move. Years of research and a lifetime of dreams now are going to be judged by the world. Is it ready for what you have to say?
A few weeks ago, my friend @stylerepublik (ig/snapchat) was telling me about her wanting to start doing something tangible to affect her community. She recently has been putting a lot of thought into improving literacy and exposure to great works. She wants to start a book club and here’s the thinking where you can start any community program and examples using a book club.
I responded to questions that the lovely @stylerepublik brought up over the past few days to culminate my thoughts. I truly believe there are a few things that must be central to our progression in the political realm AND development as people. The most central tenants we need to focus on are self-improvement, group accountability, awareness, and not letting helplessness or apathy set in. We can do it.
Originally this was going to be one post but the sections got so long that I decided to write my thoughts about each of my target improvement sections: Education, Media, Religion, Financial, Entrepreneurship, Political, Healthcare, Community, Self, Family
